The cure for anxiety.

The cure for anxiety.

👉🏻 Prayer

Do not be anxious about anything, BUT in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6 (NASB)

Commentary

anxious. “Jesus answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things,” (Luke 10:41) “but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.” (Mark 4:19) “And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on.” (Luke 12:22)

prayer. “pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18) “I pour out my complaint before him; I tell my trouble before him”. (Psalm 142:2 ESV). “casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7) “rejoicing in hope; enduring in troubles; continuing steadfastly in prayer;” (Romans 12:12) “This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.” (1 John 5:14-15) “I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.” (Psalms 121:1-2)

Exemplified: And Jacob said, “O God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, O LORD who said to me, ‘Return to your country and to your kindred, that I may do you good,’ I am not worthy of the least of all the deeds of steadfast love and all the faithfulness that you have shown to your servant, for with only my staff I crossed this Jordan, and now I have become two camps. Please deliver me from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau, for I fear him, that he may come and attack me, the mothers with the children. But you said, ‘I will surely do you good, and make your offspring as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.’” Genesis 32:9-12 ESV
