1. Honor. ““Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with a promise:” (Ephesians 6:2)

““Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.” (Exodus 20:12)

“’Every one of you shall reverence his mother and his father, and you shall keep My sabbaths; I am the LORD your God.” (Leviticus 19:3, NAS95)

“But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety towards their own family, and to repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God.” (1 Timothy 5:4)

“Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live?” (Hebrews 12:9)

2. Listen. “My son, listen to your father’s instruction, and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching:” (Proverbs 1:8)

“Listen to your father who gave you life, and don’t despise your mother when she is old.” (Proverbs 23:22)

3. Obey. “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” (Ephesians 6:1)

“Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord.” (Colossians 3:20)
